In 2023, the viennacontemporary (VCT) Sculpture Project, which took place with the kind support of JP Immobilien, announced an award with the help of an international jury for an artist from the participating galleries to install their statue in the city park. The winner of the VCT Sculpture Award was Carola Dertnig, represented by CRONE Gallery, with her significant feminist landmark ‘Feldenkreis_FI_001_Lucia’.

JP Immobilien decided to purchase the sculpture. Since April 2024, the work of art can be seen on the forecourt of JP Immobilien’s new lifestyle hotel “The Hoxton Vienna”.

 

 

 

 

“JP Immobilien chose the sculpture ‘Feldenkreis’ by Carola Dertnig because the artwork is a tribute to the artist, dancer and saxophonist Lucia Westerguard from the early 1930s and 1940s in Vienna and we very much welcome the fact that more and more attention is being paid to female artists. Such female performance artists must not be forgotten!”, sums up Reza Akhavan, Managing Partner and owner of JP Immobilien Group.
