In its sixth edition, Austria’s leading contemporary art fair has achieved its goal of supporting Vienna and the gallery scene as a prime art location. Together we were able to turn a complicated situation into great success! We would like to thank the 65 participating galleries from 16 countries for their trust and commitment to our common goal in these difficult times. The galleries presented outstanding positions from their programs to our visitors.

In 2020, viennacontemporary is again especially proud of its curated  special shows at the fair: The ZONE1 exhibition format curated by Cathrin Mayer exclusively presented artists under 40 who live, work, or study in Vienna. In the pointed work presentation Explorations, Elisa R. Linn & Lennart Wolff brought together artistic positions that were created between 1945 and 1980. An exciting selection of Video works was put together by Jen Kratochvil. The Talks program Central and Eastern European ART: Beyond Social Utopia was put together by Jelena Petrović, the ArtTech Talks series by curator Francesca Gavin.
