Marek Pokorný, an influential figure in the Czech art scene and the director of the PLATO gallery in Ostrava, with an extensive background as an art critic and curator, shares his highlight of viennacontemporary 2024:

“I remember Vienna Fairs from 90s, when everything started, so I’m really surprised about the great development of the viennacontemporary fair. I enjoy the stay here, not only because of my colleagues, but also because of the outstanding content of the fair.

I am really happy that four galleries from the Czech Republic are here. This is an important message from Vienna and viennacontemporary.

My favorite  – maybe two – galleries in this fair are, of course, Emmanuel Layr and Martin Janda.”
